The addition was well received, it became a key part in our infrastructure completing a full circle of services offered to our customer, and with customs changing at an alarming rate it was not too soon . The implementation of the Harmonized Tariff Schedule in 1989 and in 1994 the NAFTA (North America Free Trade Agreement) Customs is continuosly updating and revising rules and regulations regarding procedures for both importer and brokers.
Our ability to follow NAFTA has allowed us to better help our customer clear goods through U.S. Customs. NAFTA has been received with open and closed arms, duties have been reduced but not eliminated, and still it stands as a challenge to brokers and importers in today's ever changing requirements to NAFTA. The U.S. / Mexico border is still a large part of business today and will continue for time to come.
